Boutique Paul Smith à Séoul x System Lab

Paul Smith’s flagship store in the South Korean capital is housed in a slightly curved white shell punctuated by small circular windows and a bright yellow entrance.

The System Lab Architecture Studio  designed the first South Korean store of fashion designer Paul Smith on a densely built site in the Gangnam-gu district of Seoul, a popular destination filled with luxury brands. The irregular shape of the building is due to planning restrictions and construction constraints limiting the ground floor plan to 330 m2. The client wanted to accommodate more spacious floors in the upper levels of the building. Thus the bulky white building expands outward from the base to accommodate three storeys of shops and two levels of desks, which vary in size, shape and proportion. It also includes a basement, which is the only floor with a rectangular floor plan. A beautiful way to contrast the colorful universe of the creator and this immaculate building. A white envelope housing creations can not be more colorful! Read more on journal-du-design.fr
